Understanding the system requirements

Before you start the installation, ensure that the following system requirements have been met:

• Meridian Enterprise 2009a SP1 (or higher ) must be installed.
• The Meridian Global Collaboration Framework licenses must be registered on the BlueCielo License Server. For more information, see Understanding the licensing.
• The Meridian Enterprise Office Web Client must be installed on each client computer.

Note     The GCF relies on the availability of the Office Web Client software on each computer.

• If the Meridian Enterprise processors will be installed on the same computer with the Meridian Enterprise 64-bit edition server components (not recommended), the Office Web Client must be also be installed on the computer from a Meridian Enterprise 32-bit edition setup program.
• The vault that contains the documents upon which you want to collaborate must be configured as a Web Access location.

As always when installing new software, you should make backups of those parts of your current configuration that will be changed in the installation. We strongly recommend that you back up the configuration (.met file) of all vaults in which you will install the GCF.
